Telecom Job Opportunity – Senior Manager, Finance Policies and Procedures – Qatar

Role Overview - Manages and advises on technical aspects of financial reporting for Group consolidation (IFRS) and Group finance policies effectively and proactively to conform with generally accepted accounting principles for reporting to senior management, stock exchange and shareholders


Core Responsibilities
• Manages and advises on technical aspects of the group financial reporting activities in compliance with IFRS. Ensures timely as well as quality of group financial reporting without any audit qualification
• Ensures proactive monitoring of complex transactions from OpCos in a manner to achieve timely, complete and accurate reporting
• Oversees the technical review of financial statements of OpCos and advises on group consolidation principles having strong understanding and knowledge of IFRS
• Understands the relevant IFRS implications for the group and provides the necessary guidance to accounting team and OpCos
• Reviews and updates the group financial policies as well as the financial policies at the relevant OpCos in compliance of good corporate governance
• Provides management with regular as well as custom financial reports on implications of changes in IFRS impacting the group which are key to the decision-making process
• Reviews arrangements or agreements entered into with financial obligations and proactively recommends to management the accounting implications
• Reviews and timely updates of financial authority matrices for the group as well as OpCos
• Liaises with Group Finance & Group Legal colleagues & OpCo finance teams
• Assists in planning on finance and accounting aspects of the Group's business proposals and M&A activities
• Liaises with external auditors where required
Qualification and Experience - Bachelor Degree in Finance or Accounting with professional qualification like CA, ACCA, CIMA, CMA or CPA
Minimum Experience
• Minimum 10 years post qualification experience out of which at least 7 years advising on complex IFRS transactions
• Experience in big 4 audit firms with hands on experience advising on IFRS for complex transactions
