Telecom Job for UTRAN Engineer – Bellevue, WA (USA)

Site Address: 2 positions in Bellevue, WA 
Duration: Long Term Contract To Hire 
Note: Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on w2. 
Contract-To-Hire position 
Face-to-face meeting will be required 



JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: 
• Engineer will be required to perform network planning, conduct network performance audits and network performance improvement. Perform these activities on 2G/3G products and solutions, primarily in multi-vendor networks. 
• This includes RAN/RNC, WCDMA/GSM, Radio Access Network, IP Backbone, and IP convergence. 
• Ability to perform basis analysis and investigation related to network and system performance. 
• Ability to evaluate customer requirements and provide solutions with support from other team members. 
CORE/CRITICAL COMPETENCIES: 
• Thorough knowledge of 3G network architecture elements and protocols (TCP/IP, ATM, SS7, etc) 
• In-depth understanding of Telecommunications and Data Networking theory (Traffic Theory, OSI Model, etc) 
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
• Knowledge of Perl, VB, C++ 
• Proficient with Microsoft Office 
• Good presentation skills 
• Ability to work with others in a team environment and work towards a common goal 
• The position requires a strong desire to excel with network design/performance improvement, through detailed technical investigation and analysis 
• Customer focused and results oriented 
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: 
• BSc or MSc in EE, CS, or equivalent. 
• Minimum of 3 years experience working with 2G/3G products and solutions, specifically UTRAN (RAN/RNC) 
• 3rd Party Vendor Certification a plus 
• UTRAN Engineer should be capable of troubleshooting network performance issues in live networks. ‘ 
• The candidates should have a minimum of 3 years of UMTS experience. 
• The candidate must be familiar with Network Performance Improvement, including tracing and analysis of single call as well as traffic analysis and improvement using KPIs. In-depth understanding of all RAN interfaces and protocols, and capability to troubleshoot capacity and performance issues is required. 
• Must have an in-depth understanding of ATM transport network and capability to modify configurations according to established templates. 
• Need to be proficient with trace tools, CPP platform, COLI, Moshell/AMOS, and scripting. 
• Experience with OSS PM and Business Objects are a plus. Candidates MUST be flexible to travel.
