Telecom Vacancy: Transmission Back Office Engineer :: Europe

Location: Europe 
Start Date: ASAP 
End Date: 3-6 months (extendable)

Responsibilities:
• Responsible for ensuring the integration and acceptance to Operations is carried out in a controlled manner and has the correct processes in place to ensure operations targets and KPIs are maintained 
• Responsible for inter-working with Access/Backbone Transmission Team Leaders and Project teams to determine the responsible delivery of new projects (i.e. network enhancements, expansions or reductions) 
• Contribute ideas for improvement and optimisation in all areas of Transmission delivery 
• In conjunction with the Back Office Team Leaders ensure the project has the required technical tools and documentation to complete required tasks (SW, NMS access, CLI Scripts, processes, TTO access and training) 
• Provide a weekly project update to the Back Office Team Leader 
• Have appropriate skills to support the Ethernet network to a 2nd line level for fault resolution and provisioning 
• Work with the Front Office and Back Office teams to ensure knowledge transfer


Requirements:
• Senior technical experience of the following technologies and equipment: 
• M/W PDH/SDH: Ericsson minilink E/Siae G/B, Nera City Link/290s, Alcatel/ PCOM/ 
• M/W Ethernet: Ericsson TN/Siae AL 
• A good understanding of moves, changes, installations, relocations and strategic or business related projects is required 
• Broad technical appreciation of Transmission, ATM and Ethernet technologies in a mobile operator environment 
• Appreciation of the importance of service management function in an Operational Environment (For change, problem and faults) 
• 4+ year's systems development, integration support or maintenance of Telco grade high availability Access Transmission architectures 
• Ability to lead, direct and devise tactical alternatives to problems 
• Be able to reconcile diverse requirements and gain consensus 
• Should be able to take ownership and undertake critical service decisions under considerable operational pressures 
• Strong team player 
• Strong communication, interpersonal and management skills 
• HNC/HND 
• Appropriate industry standard Telecommunication qualification in Ethernet and ATM
