Telecom Vacancy for Senior Network Architect – Satellite – Switzerland

Client is a leading Satellite Communications Provider and are seeking an experienced Senior Network Architect to be based in Switzerland.


Essential knowledge and skills:
• Solution Focus: Delivery of practical solutions in line with customer needs. 
• Customer Excellence: Address customer requirements; tailor implementation plans and solutions accordingly.
• University degree level education or equivalent in Computer Science / Data Communications.
• Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or equivalent network certification
• Knowledge of IP protocols, Routing (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP), Switching, Network topologies and design, IPSEC and SSL based VPNs.
• Proven experience in designing, implementing and operating Secure IP networks.
• A self starter who can prioritise and manage multiple tasks and projects efficiently and effectively
• Previous Network Architect knowledge working within the Satellite, Aerospace, Military industries.


Desirable Knowledge and Skills
• Knowledge of government customer security requirements (US and Rest of World) and experience building solutions to meet these.
• Knowledge of satellite or mobile communications systems and standards.
• Proven experience of working in a networking environment configuring, monitoring and troubleshooting routers, switches, firewalls and monitoring devices.
• Experience in a start-up environment/building an internet portal from inception to completion.
• Experience of different Operating Systems such as UNIX, Linux and Windows.
• Knowledge of ancillary network tools like Radius, DNS and other monitoring/troubleshooting tools like Wireshark.
