Huawei has denied allegations of having any links with the Chinese Army, after questions were raised of the probable threat the company might pose to the national security.
Huawei is the world's second-largest telecom gear maker after Ericsson and was founded by Chinese Army veteran Ren Zhengfei.
Sources within the Intelligence Bureau has said that the Chinese firm, which was to set up telecom lab in India, was under the radar for suspicious activities. But, denying all the allegations company's spokesperson said that they had fulfilled all obligations and requirements of DoT and were committed to working in India.
Huawei, had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Institute of Sciences in Bangalore agreeing to share its technology in the telecommunication sector, thereby raising questions of giving access to suspicious Chinese company.
TIMES (of India) NOW has accessed the NSCS report that clearly warned that Huawei's expanding footprints were a danger to national security threat.
