Telecom Vacancy for 2G Optimization engineer :: Tanzania

Currently looking for 2G Optimization engineer with Multi Band Cell (MBC) experience in Tanzania.

It is a 3 months extendable contract position.

Good experience on Ericsson is very much preferable.

Job description:

3G Optimization and transport sharing

Own laptop required

Project urgently needs an experienced 2G Radio Optimisation Engineer, with MBC (MultiBand Channel) competence being a must.

Implementation of Multi band cell (using combined BCCH).

Troubleshooting with implementing EGSM-PGSM with 1800

Implementation of Edge features in 5 trail sites.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• Perform dimensioning of radio networks, frequency planning, coverage predictions;
• Perform radio surveys;
• Perform cell parameter settings;
• Perform radio network audit and performance improvement: statistics analysis and processing, KPI calculation, parameters and features tuning, make recommendation for future network development;
• Utilize NMS/OSS applications for radio network audit/performance improvement purposes;
• Perform Network strategy consulting;
• Assist in marketing and sales activities, customer negotiations;
• Take part in development of internal methods and tools;

• Transfer competence to internal/external customers in Radio Network Design/Improvement area;

Excellent knowledge and experience of:
• Radio Frequency (RF) Engineering;
• Radio Network Statistics;
• Transmission;
• PC based tools;
• Knowledge / experience of standard IT environments;
• Very high knowledge of Microsoft Windows environments;
• Knowledge of SQL database solutions as well as GIS;
• Local requirements and regulation of RF documentation.
Profound knowledge:
• Telecom networks;
• Quality requirements and methods;
• Business processes;
• Customer’s business environment, processes and driving forces from a short and long-term perspective;
• Specialized consulting skills, strong change management skills and an in-depth knowledge of the industry;
• Customer oriented mindset, good interpersonal and communication skills;

• Fluent oral and written English.
