This role is responsible for managing a programme comprising many interrelated projects that have a common theme and purpose to time cost and quality.
Set up programme management governance, documents and processes in line with project management standards
Implement consistent programme and project management reports throughout all layers of project governance from Project Manager to Programme Steering Committee and Project Review Committee.
Develop and implement consistent programme and project plans including critical path, dependency and resource management plans and reports
Contribute to knowledge management repository containing project documents,
Assist in skill transfer, training and coaching of project managers
Responsibilities:
• Programme management ,reporting and processes
• Responsible for programme stakeholder analysis and communications and effective governance
• Prepares programme charter
• Prepares programme business case and evaluates and monitors internal and external programme benefit and cost
• Consolidates and addresses programme Risks Assumptions, Issues and Dependencies (RAID Log)
• Managing programme risk and issue resolution and supporting project managers to address project actions and issues to enable them to deliver to time quality and budget
• Manage programme resource plans and associated management reports
• Identifies, charts and manages cross-project milestone interdependencies and critical path
• Evaluates and escalates change requests
• Liaises and assists in coordinating related initiatives
• Works with Programme Owner/Sponsor and Finance to assign budget, resources, and time to the project managers and manage overall programme budget.
• Forecasts future performance to plan based on current inputs.
• Assisting project managers to prepare project documents and supporting analysis where justified, and ensuring that documents are understood and owned, and knowledge is transferred
• Reviewing programme and project progress and issues regularly with Project Managers, compiling programme milestone exception reports on progress, and consolidating programme plans and risk and issue logs for review by Programme Owner and Steering Committee
Skills/Competences needed:
• Fluent in English.
• Structure-oriented.
• Strong Communication, organisation and presentation skills
Desirable
Ability to communicate in Arabic
Knowledge /Experience and level of Education needed
Required
• A graduate preferably in a computer discipline with an MBA from a recognised University.
• Recognised Professional Project Management Qualification
• Minimum 5-10 years experience in Project and Portfolio/Programme delivery management, and project reporting at a Board level
• Min 5-10 years experience in business
• Successful experience in projects, team leadership and/or management
• Successful experience in project document management, reporting, processes and workflow
• Good listening relationship and trust building skills Strong motivational skills and “can do“ attitude
Desirable
• Successful document management software experience is desirable
• Use of Microsoft EPM Project Server/SharePoint Development of reports on projects and business case analysis
