Telecom Job for Network Planning Consultant :: UK

Location: London, UK

Responsibilities:

1. Extensive knowledge of telecom business and dedicate to one tech-area (IP, wireless and wire line).

Candidate should design E2E network architecture, do network planning for all-IP based system and network to meet key account’s commercial objectives and network strategy.

2. Candidate should be able to analyze industry telecom network development trend in wire line, wireless or IPTV& Media etc, and provide special telecom network consultation service based on obtaining customer insight.

With the ultimate goal to design network development plans for the operator that ensures attainment of company sales goals.

3. Must be executive like and able to connect with senior executive within the telecommunication industry. Candidate is expected to be able to exhibit mature understanding of industry trend and is able to speak specifically of telecommunication technologies.

Understand customer’s strategy, technical and commercial requirements identify business opportunities and presenting recommendations and solutions.

4. Ability to proactively seek out and understand customer and market requirements, and to develop messages which position products and solutions in the context of those requirements

Ability to clearly define and communicate the vision, goals, and value proposition of the solutions and products from the customer perspective

Ability to pull together multiple product related inputs, from multiple functions, and add value by interpreting these in terms of differentiated business benefit

Competencies required:

Educational degree: Bachelor or a higher degree

Specialization: Communication, electronics, computer, and related specializations

Work experience: Ten years or more in the industry of communication, preferable with operator network strategy or planning department experience.

Knowledge:

1. Industry trend knowledge: The position holder should a in-depth foundation about telecom industry trend and be familiar with the technology evolution roadmap. In MBB area, he should have deeper undersatanding on mobile technical trend and ecosystem, including 2G/3G/4G etc, and have experience on mobile internet service and application. In TV&media area, he should have deep knowledge in SDP, WAP, LBS, SNS, IPTV, SDP, Mobile TV, IMS Applications, NGN RBT and overall data services in operator networks. And well understanding about OMA, SOA related technology as well as operator DSMP/MISC, BOSS/Billing platform structure and BI solutions. In IP area, he should have deep knowledge about IP networking, IPv6, network security, HA configuration design.

2. Telecom network knowledge: Successful candidates should master the knowledge of telecom equipments and network infrastructure elements. Be experts in special area with experience on carrier network planning including bearer, core, terminal and application, etc.

3. Solution Architecture design: He should have extensive experience in solution development relating to network architecture design.

Skills:

1. Consultant capability, project operation capability: Successful candidates should exhibit experiences in network consultant and have successfully managed key projects to drive sales and solutions.

2. Network planning capability: Understand on how to obtain customer requirement and understand network development challenges confronting operators. Successful candidates should be able to provide network planning experiences.

3. English proficiency at the level of working language
