Vacancy: FIBER ENGINEER || Plano, TX (USA)

for 4 month contract

The Ash Group is currently looking for a Fiber Engineer for the RAN Transport team. Job duties include, but are not limited to the following: 
- Managed backhaul design for various customers 
- Fiber Aggregation nodes selection based on various criteria in a complex environment 
- Utilize GIS to analyze available information and propose best transport routes possible 
- Analyze customer business processes and requirements 
- Provide support to design team for all fiber related issues 
- Secure the functionality and technical quality of deliveries in customer projects 
- Implement solutions in lab or customer network using company products, 3rd party, or customized packages. 
- Attend and participate in customer meetings for specific solutions and different areas. 
- Create and deliver engineering design packages in accordance with Company practices and customer’s requirements 
Qualifications: 
- BS or MS in EE, CS, or CE, or acceptable equivalent of post secondary education and experience. Master's highly preferred 
-10+ years previous experience working for a carrier or telecom vendor planning, operations or design and integration 
- Superb knowledge of SONET, WDM ITU-T and ANSI protocols and standards, Ethernet family protocols and standards, MPLS protocols and related standards, ATM protocols and standards routing principals and routing protocols 
- Working knowledge of US Telecommunications market ILEC, CLEC operations, interconnect practices 
- Knowledge of Fiber optics theory and practical implementation fiber types, related ITU-T and ANSI fiber standards, fiber characteristics 
- Excellent knowledge of IP networking and Internet technologies 
- Solid knowledge of wireless technologies and related protocols required 
- Knowledge of installation and configuration of servers, routers, and switches highly desired. 
- Strong problem solving skills and analytical ability.
