Full Title: RF Engineer

Compensation: 100 - 110K

Job Description:

The Sr. RF Engineer will act as a Subject Matter Expert with the customer and internal teams in the performance and planning of RF Optimization in the customer network.

Will identify what can be done within our client's infrastructure product to improve any issues.

Will trouble shoot and work with the RF Test Team to conduct RF testing in both the lab and out in the field for RF Optimization.

Will make recommendations on long term solutions, working with the systems engineering team and product management.

Will make sure that the necessary RF Test equipment is available.

This position will combine field and lab work. Will travel to customer sites to investigate, take measurements, find root causes and resolutions and provide analysis and reporting.

Travel 50%.

Qualifications:

BSEE is required, MSEE is a plus.

Strong theoretical understanding of UMTS as well as hands-on experience working with 3G radio theory and principals.

Experience with UMTS deployment from an RF perspective: RF optimization, frequency planning, coverage, interference analysis and troubleshooting of complex issues in the field.

Experience conducting RF measurements in the field and analyzing the data.

Experience with RF Test and Optimization tools such as TEMS, etc.

Must understand mobility procedures such as how the handover works.

Strong communication and customer facing skills.
