Currently seeking skilled Ericsson RBS Engineers for an immediate 4 month project in Malawi.
Job definition:
Operation and maintenance of BSS Ericsson network at the level of tier 1 and tier 2, with special emphasis in Ericsson BTS. Main interface with Ericsson Technical support regarding technical and operation matters. Support local teams in technical competence development.
Main Responsibility Areas:
• Execution of Ericsson BSS corrective/preventive maintenance activities.
• Current network is comprised of: RBS2116, RBS2206, RBS2216.
• Field BTS preventive and corrective maintenance is being done by field teams, so BSS engieneers to provide remote support, guidelines and recommendations.
• Specialized corrective maintenance
• Will provide support to Fault, Performance and Configuration Management and NPO activities when they are required by corresponding teams.
• Liase with NMC (NOC) for escalations to Ericsson 3rd tier support (equipments) for more specialized support.
Key Tasks:
• Major Networks Elements supported are: Ericsson BSCs and BTS (RBS2116, RBS2206, RBS2216).
• Specialized support (troubleshooting, diagnostics, etc.) to NOC monitoring and field maintenance teams
• Correct Radio network faults in and performance degradations as per SLA requirements
• Escalation point from First Line Maintenance and Monitoring for Ericsson BSS related issues.
• Working on BSC daily maintenance checks and remote BTS as well.
• In depth analysis and troubleshooting of Performance Management report in conjunction with CM/PM team
• Responsible for co-operating with the technical support (upgrades, faults) of 3rd party equipment and Care
• 24/7 availability in case of major or critical faults or upgrades and retrofits.
• Provides technical support to CM & Planning to plan/execute network HW/SW changes (e.i. rehomings (BSC/BTS and MGW/BSC)
• Liaise with PM/CM, field teams and subcontractors, to correct radio Network faults and performance degradations as per Service Level Agreement requirements
• Acceptances of the BSS from delivery on or before handover to operations
• Support to the remote and on-site restoration of network element functionality as defined in the agreed escalation plans
• Test plan for call, functionality, etc., after changes. Verification of test results after changes.
• Investigations major outages and support management repor writing.
• Periodic SW backup excecution/recommendations.
• Recommendation regarding spare parts inventories.
• Faul report generation, analysis and recommendation
• License management.
• Report generation on faults and alarms.
• On the job training to internal and external (subcontractor) teams
