The Chinese telecom-gear firms moving into the handset market with new U.S.-focused partnerships
A pair of Chinese telecom-equipment makers plans to go on a hiring spree at their North Texas operations this year as they pursue a budding market — consumers — with wireless phones, tablets and high-speed data devices.
ZTE Corp., whose U.S. base is in Richardson, plans to double its workforce on this continent this year, according to Lixin Cheng, president of the company’s North America region.
