Network Engineer – Optical

NEEDED: ATLANTA
Responsibilities Include:
1. Network design for DWDM BB, Fujitsu 7500 platform
2. Support and manage BB capacity
3. Design for EDGE customer demarcation point termination
4. Write new installation MOPS for new circuit deployment
5. Identify and write Bill of Materials for new circuit deployment
6. Work with field personnel as needed during circuit deployment
7. Identify and schedule network maintenance as needed
8. Write MOPS for network maintenance
9. Work with field personnel as needed during network maintenance
10. Create CLR (circuit layout records) for new circuits designed and installed
11. Provide Tier 3 support to NOC
12. Working knowledge of IP transport, provisioning and trouble shooting
The ideal candidate has a strong working knowledge of DWDM and SONET optical transport, is well versed with Fujitsu 9500, 7500, 7420, 4500 and 4100 equipment; and the MRV 9124 and 906 product set and comes from a Tier 2/3 Level background. Layer 3 IP transport is based on Juniper equipment and the JUNOS operating system. Some knowledge of that technology would be helpful.
