Scandinavia: ZTE, Huawei Win LTE Contracts From Hi3G

ZTE and Huawei both won long-term evolution (LTE) commercial application contracts from Hutchison 3G (Hi3G), reports c114.net. The two will build 2.6 gigahertz (GHz) networks in Sweden and Denmark for Hi3G. ZTE will build 500 bases in Sweden for Hi3G.
It is the second LTE commercial application contract that ZTE won. ZTE announced that it has seven LTE commercial contracts in hand and will have at least another 14 in 2011.
Huawei won its first international TD-LTE commercial application contract from Polish mobile operator Aero2 in November. Huawei announced that it has 18 LTE commercial contracts in hand at present and will have another 36 in 2011 at the earliest. Most will come from Europe.
Hi3G is controlled by Li Ka-shing. It provides 3G services in Italy, UK, Ireland, Australia, Sweden, Denmark, Austria, Hong Kong, and Israel. Hi3G owned 7,500 stations in Sweden at the end of 2009.
