A mobile telephone number fetched SR560,000 (150,000) during a charity auction organized by the main telecom operator in Saudi Arabia, the Arabic language daily Kabar reported on Wednesday.
The number (0536666666) was among 60 special mobile numbers sold for nearly SR2 million ($540,000) during the auction that was organised by the Saudi Telecommunications Company in Riyadh on monday, the paper said.
“The mobile number 0536666666 fetched the highest sum at the auction as it was sold for SR560,000,” it said, adding the funds would be channeled to three local charity societies for orphans, handicapped children and kidney patients.
