Telecom Job vacancy for Shift NOC IP Engineer :: Europe

Leading European telecoms provider require a NOC Shift Engineer IP to conduct network surveillance, opens trouble tickets from network alarms or external fault reports and take ownership of and manage any incidents on the network through to completion.
The role will involve work in the Network Operations Centre on a 24x7 shift rota basis. Duties will include conducting network surveillance and proactively initialising fault resolution and priority, carrying out first level fault diagnostics across the IP network, conducting preventative maintenance and analysis of circuit performance, opening trouble tickets from network alarms or external fault reports, tracking trouble tickets assigned to the NOC, escalating trouble tickets, both technical and to management, carrying out vendor and supplier contact and escalation for fault resolution, co-ordinating field operatives across Pan European Network, supporting Local Ops with Diagnostics and maintenance, escalation of unresolved IP customer or network faults to 2nd or 3rd Line Support as required and liaising with customer representatives to obtain fault resolution.
The ideal candidate will have experience of working in a large established Operations environment for a Telco or large ISP, experience of NOC shift patterns, good basic fault finding techniques, experience using Cisco IOS and experience using IP tools such as telnet, ping, trace route and TFTP.
