Telecom Vacancy: Ericsson RAN Back Office Engineer || UK

Location: Manchester 
Start date: ASAP 
End date: 4 months 



Must be eligible to work in UK 

Responsibilities: 
• To ensure timely response to unplanned network events, Field Liaison, producing data transcript for the 2G & 3G networks 
• Providing the Area Team Leader with accurate and up to date information on all service affecting faults and escalation status within your area of responsibility 
• Field Liason Support for Field Teams 
• Cycle times of unplanned events are kept to a minimum and / or resolved within target 
• Support Team Leader and Area Team in achieving all SLA’s 
• Management of all open tickets and backlog, fault resolution of all RAN hardware and infrastructure, ensuring minimal disruption to end users 
• Provide Jeopardy Management of network events using systems and tools ensuring minimal disruption to end users 
• Management and escalation into 3rd parties, providing relevant and timely updates against all open tickets 
• Driving through to resolution all open events 

Requirements: 
• Minimum of two years experience within a front office 1st or 2nd line radio access network or IT operations and maintenance centre environment 
• Can demonstrate experience of Ericsson 2G and 3G radio and core network products, elements, architecture and functionality 
• Can demonstrate experience of radio and/or core transmission networks including SDH, PDH, Microwave or Ethernet 
• Can demonstrate experience of radio access network tools and operating systems including trouble ticket handling, network inventory and databases 
• Can demonstrate computer literacy skills with MS-Word, Excel and Outlook including an excellent command of the English language both verbally and written 
• Can demonstrate understanding of network service operations incident management handling processes, inputs and outputs 
• Operational experience with either a supplier or operating organisation within the Telecoms arena, particularly with a good appreciation of the IT networks, preferably IP over ATM 
• Communicate courteously and professionally with colleagues, customers and members of the public 
• Achieve SLA targets, strive for high achievement 
• Have confidence to challenge existing process or procedure and suggest new ways of working
• Facilitate and implement change in own environment and across other functions and teams where appropriate 
• Proficient in the use of MS applications and basic systems 
• Good written and interpersonal skills 
• Good O level/GCSE grades in English language
