What is Smartphone and Tablet PC

Smart Phones are small mobile devices that can be used for the functions very similar to those found in personal computers besides normal use of calls (incl video calls), sending and receiving sms as well as internet browsing. It can also be used for handling emails. Smart phones can syn with personal computer.
The introduction of the QWERTY keyboard on mobile phones came first with a Smartphone. In this phone, the arrangement of buttons on the keypad is like that of a computer.
In contrast to ordinary cell phones, smartphones allow users to personalize the range of applications in their smartphones which they want to use according to their requirements.
Almost all of the known mobile manufacturers are making smart phone.

Whereas Mobile Phones are normal wireless phones which are used for voice calls, sms and for some extent gprs (internet) connectivity.
Tablet: Scottish tablet is made of butter, sugar and condensed milk while in New Zealand, it’s a token giving right of way to a train driver on single track. Generally, people also called medicines made of compressed powder. But here, a tablet PC is a wireless, portable personal computer (PC) with a touch screen interface. Tablet form factor is typically smaller than a notebook but larger than a smart phone.

The term was made popular as a concept presented by Microsoft in 2001. Today, the term tablet is also used to refer to computer-like devices with a touch screen but not intended to run general PC operating systems or applications.
The first widely-sold tablet computer was Apple Computer's Newton, which was not a commercial success. Technological advances in battery life, display resolution, handwriting recognition software, larger memory, and wireless Internet access have since made tablets a viable computing option.
There are different styles of tablets:
Convertible tablet: typically has a display that rotates 180 degrees and can be folded to close, screen up, over the integrated keyboard.
Slate tablet: has electronics integrated into the touch screen unit and lacks a hardware keyboard, such as an iPad.

Hybrid tablet: is like a regular notebook but with a removable display that functions independently as a slate.

Rugged tablet: is a slate-like model that is designed to withstand rough handling and extreme conditions. Rugged tablets are usually encased in a protective shell and have shock-protected hard drives.

Can we make a call through tablet pc?? Unfortunately not. Its purely PC style. But one can make call through facetime, google chat or skype.
People nowadays also hear mostly about Android, but mostly are confused if it is hardware or software.
Android: Android is a Linux-based mobile phone operating system (OS) developed by Google. Android is unique because Google is developed the platform but also made it open for free to hardware manufacturers and phone carriers who want to use Android on their devices. This OS is used both for smart phone and tablets. Android has a mascot. It’s a green colour robot. Android mascot name is andy (andy rubin). andy rubin is one of 'the man' who was founded Android inc, in 2003 in US, before android inc accquired by Google in 2005.
Android phones are highly customizable and therefore can be altered according to your tastes and needs. You can check your Facebook and Twitter profiles through a variety of applications. Another feature of Android is the fact that it automatically backs up your contacts. Once you set up an Android phone you’ll need to have a Google Account. Every time you save a phone number to the address book of your Android phone, it will be synced to your Google Account.
