SUMMARY: The Director of Business Development (DBD) is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing sales strategy for prospects to achieve aggressive new business sales goals. Through participation and leadership, the DBD is responsible for positioning the company value proposition with key prospects, then working to develop and close business opportunities. This will include, but is not limited to, cold calling, prospecting, and following up on inquiries, marshalling agency resources in response to informational and pricing requests, and serving as the key day-to-day contact with the prospect through signing of a contract or scope of work. The DBD must provide highly responsive customer service in all transactions with prospects.
Responsibilities: · Develops prospect relationships within assigned markets.
· Establishes and meets monthly and annual sales goals.
· Maintains direct, day to day, senior level prospect contacts.
· Works in a proactive manner to provide the prospect with thought leadership and strategic guidance, determining the best solutions to fulfill the needs of the opportunity.
· Attends weekly New Business Team meetings and reports on goals and accomplishments to team.
· Assists in the development of new business sales tools.
· Coordinates all internal agency team members to provide deliverables to prospects:
§ Writes new business project/RFP Job Launch Briefs
§ Communicates goals and specifics to team members
§ Reviews and approves all material going to prospects
· Makes sure all required deliverables are delivered to prospects on time and on budget and of a high standard of excellence.
· Presents and effectively sells material to prospects.

· Demonstrated sales skills and ability.
· Excellent interpersonal skills.
· Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including meeting facilitation and stand-up presentation skills
· Demonstrated process management and leadership skills.
· Demonstrated creative problem solving and analytical skills.
· Strong understanding of database marketing, direct marketing and the creative development process.
· Ability to work well in a flexible, dynamic work environment.
Education/Experience Required:
· BA/BS Marketing, Business, or Communication degree preferred (or equivalent experience) with 2 years applied experience
· Minimum of 7 years related industry experience in an ad agency or client-based marketing environment. Excellent C level presence and network of contacts.
