Ericsson is named 'Managed Service Provider of the Year' in the Middle East


UAE: Ericsson won the Network World Middle East Award for ‘Managed Service Provider of the Year’ at a ceremony held in Dubai and attended by key players from the regional IT industry.
The award celebrated innovative and transformative networking projects in the Middle East and the vendors behind them.
“We are honored to have received this award highlighting our strong portfolio and achievements in managed services,” said Staffan Akesson, Head of Managed Services, Region Middle East and North-East Africa, Ericsson.
“We see managed services as a developing trend and a key to the success of operators in the region, enabling them to be in a far stronger position to dedicate critical resources to their core business operations, increase efficiency and improve network performance.”
Ericsson’s managed services offering allows operators to have a long-term operating partner and gives them the chance to re-focus resources on the customer experience, as well as 20% - 25% cost saving and more than 40% improvement on time to market. Globally, Ericsson has 300 managed services contracts in more than 100 countries; by teaming up with operators, Ericsson helps strengthen their competitive edge through improved network availability and capacity, which will reduce operating costs for the operators and in turn, increase market growth for mobile services, which will further improve the quality of services and the end-user experience.
The telecommunications giant has signed 54 managed services contracts in 2010 alone. 
As the undisputed leader in managed services, Ericsson’s has been recognized globally, having been named the “Prime Driver of Managed Services Growth" in China and in the world at the 2010 China Telecommunications Awards and receiving the prestigious Frost & Sullivan ‘Managed Services Provider of the Year’ award for Asia Pacific in 2009  and 2010.
