Nokia Siemens Networks has announced plans to set up a Global Network Operations Center (GNOC) near Moscow. Outsourcing network management is gaining momentum in Russia and the CIS. The new GNOC will help telecoms operators across the region to improve the speed, quality and efficiency of their services. Nokia Siemens Networks plans to make a significant investment over a period of five years to develop the center.
Work on the GNOC is expected to begin early in 2011 and the center is expected to begin network management operations during the second quarter of 2011. The GNOC in Russia will be the company’s fourth, complementing its two existing centers in India and one in Portugal.
