Job Description:
2G/2.5G and 3G Radio Network Performance Optimizer is Responsible for provision of network optimization & Assurance services to Nokia Siemens network’s customers in line with organizational policies and procedures using best industry practices.
The main tasks of 2G/2.5G/3G Radio Network Performance Optimization Engineer are:
Plan and Perform various test cases to trace and monitor air interface to assess the required grade of service, coverage, To make sure, handover objectives are met and to determine how subscribers Perceive their network's performance.
Plan and fine tune the orientation and down tilt of the antenna to ensure proper signal distribution and eliminate rapid signal change conditions in the target area.
Capacity/Hotspot Planning: Reduce coverage overlap, site closest to hotspot to minimize TX power
Fine tuning of Nokia RAN Parameters and counters and their application involving Network optimization and KPI assurance.
Capacity Analysis and Solution Recommendation. Planning and implementation of features related to network capacity including parameter planning, post implementation analysis and Management Reporting.
EDAP, PCU & RNC planning and Optimization using Nokia Counters and parameters.
LAC/RAC Planning and Optimization in line with growing traffic trends. Analysis of Paging mechanism and fine tuning of parameters to reach optimal KPI’s.
Adjacency and Frequency Plan optimization.
Management reporting i.e. Dashboard Reports, Routine daily/weekly and monthly Reports etc involving network KPI’s and worst cells by making use of Raw counters and available Performance reports.
Abis signaling optimization and Performance assurance.
Audit and consistency check on Parameters, configuration and performance KPI’s. Removal of any discrepancies. Fault Management and its impact on network KPI’s.
Fine tuning of specific RF parameters for the sites and clusters to reach optimal thresholds of KPI’s.
Assist Field drive test teams in validating the site configuration & performance in the field during the site and cluster drive processes.
Drive test data post processing and analysis to isolate and remove any abnormalities in the network behavior and verification that Network behaves in line with planned parameters.
The main tasks of 3G/HSDPA Radio Network Performance Optimization Engineer are:
Plan and Perform various test cases to trace and monitor air interface to asses the required grade of service, coverage, handover objectives are met and to determine how subscribers Perceive their network's performance.
Plan and fine tune the orientation and down tilt of the antenna to ensure proper signal distribution (reasonably good RSCP, Ec/Io, overshoot control non-dominant pilot region control) and eliminate rapid signal change conditions in the target area.
Network Planning and optimization for HSDPA UMTS Networks for higher Data Throughput rates.
Capacity/Hotspot Planning: Reduce coverage overlap, site closest to hotspot to minimize TX power, avoid pilot pollution.
The successful candidate must possess excellent knowledge of CSW and PSW Call setup time optimization under different scenarios e.g AMR Call, Video call by utilizing his experience and ability on Signaling bearer selection optimization, Activation time, lub signaling and CS/PS Core Optimization.
The selected candidate must be able to demonstrate his abilities on PS data TCP Throughput optimization by optimizing MTU and MSS in PS Core side and looking at TCP Protocol Overheads.
The finalized candidate must possess excellent knowledge on HSDPA planning and Optimization for maximum throughput including various test cases for service level checks. He should be able to optimize the network to attain best possible values for throughput VS CPICH RSCP and/Or EcNo.
He should have excellent knowledge on HSDPA parameters and their implications on network performance.
The selected candidate must be able to demonstrate his abilities on lub dimensioning, Route selection, dynamic HSDPA transport scheduling to reach optimal parameter values.
The selected candidate must be able to collect and perform analysis on the following signaling cases;
Mobile originated call signaling, Mobile terminated Call signaling, Video call setup signaling, PDP Context activation signaling & SIP session setup signaling in 3GPP mode.
Fine tuning of Nokia RAN Parameters and counters and their application involving Network optimization and KPI assurance.
Capacity Analysis and Solution Recommendation. Planning and implementation of features related to network capacity including parameter planning, post implementation analysis and Management Reporting.
You will be required to do Adjacency and Frequency Plan optimization. This may include 2G-2G, 2G-3G neighbor definition and optimization and selection of best scrambling Codes. The selected candidate must possess excellent knowledge of ISHO.
Management reporting i.e. Dashboard Reports, Routine daily/weekly and monthly Reports etc involving network KPI’s and worst cells by making use of raw counters and available Performance reports.

REQUIREMENTS:
BSC (MSC) in Telecommunications / Electronics Engineering
Personal flexibility regarding travel within the country.
Excellent Knowledge of planning and optimization processes
Excellent Knowledge of Nokia Parameters and counters and their application involving Network optimization and KPI assurance.
Expert level Knowledge and practice of drive test measurement/analysis tool (NEMO, or equivalent)
Expert level Knowledge and practice of OSS, RAN tools: Configuration Management, Performance Management, Fault Management related e.g. Plan Editor, Radio Access Configuration tools, Optimizer, Reporter, MML commands
The Candidate is expected to have at least 4-5 years of most relevant experience and a proven track record of performance attributes on multiple Nokia projects.
