Nokia Siemens Networks acquires Turkish IRIS Telecom

Nokia Siemens Networks will acquire IRIS Telecom, a Turkish telecom and engineering service company. With the acquisition NSN aspires to become the leading telecom service provider in Turkey. The value of the acquisition has not been published.

IRIS Telecom was founded in 1999, and since then has grown into Turkey’s leading vendor of network planning and optimisation services. IRIS Telecom has more than 630 employees and its existing customers include for instance Turkcell, Avea and Ucell.

– Nokia Siemens Networks intends to use IRIS Telecom to improve its position in the Turkish, Eastern European and Central Asian markets, says Regional Head of Services, Geert Buijk from Nokia Siemens Networks.
