Job description:
• Responsible for various VAS applications and there O&M
• Responsible as system admin for Sun Solaris & HP-UX systems
• Should be ready to work as on-call engineer after office hours and on weekends
• Ability to work on Oracle, Informix & MySQL databases as admin will be considered as a plus
• Performs advanced/2nd level troubleshooting in the VAS applications
• Works with the reporting features, application problems and follow up the trouble reports concerning the VAS platforms
• Responsible for the modification of the existing VAS routines, creation of new and temporary routines as well as follow up
• Performs day to day operation & maintenance of VAS platforms
• Handles all internal alarms in VAS applications
• Implement VAS user interface layout modifications
• Distributes all new and upgraded documentation related to the SW, HW and equipment for the Network Surveillance
• Knowledge transfer to the Front Office for First Level O&M
• Perform troubleshooting and take owner ship of problems until problem resolution
• Maintain an up-to-date network topology, diagrams and a correct list of IP addresses for related VAS platforms
• Preparing documented and structured disaster recovery plans
• Ensure VAS system & applications availability & stability
• Regular System health check
• Participate in regular upgrade of VAS system as per vendor’s recommendation
• Solve system problems through tickets open towards vendor in corporation with vendor support within the deadline
• Review, approve and execute change requests for VAS platforms
• Perform Fault Management and complete RFO (Outage Report)
Requirements:
• Minimum 2 years dedicated experience on Roamware platform and its different applications
• Basic technical education and solid O&M experience from multi vendor
• VAS environment
• Advanced UNIX (Sun Solaris, HP-UX) and database (Oracle, MySQL, Informix) knowledge
• At least 3 years experience as VAS engineer in O&M organization for at least some of the following areas:
• Messaging (Nokia/NSN)
• SDP (WAP GW, RADIUS, IPSDP) (Nokia/NSN)
• VMS, MCN (Tecnomen/Tecnotree)
• WSMS, Roaming solutions (Roamware)
• 3PGW (AirWide)
• Fluent in English
• Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP, IP Addressing, Static and Dynamic
• Routing, OSPF, SNMP, VRRP
• Good knowledge of L2 and L3 switching
• Must be a good team player and able to work independently
• Flexible and responsive to changing work patterns
• Cooperative, open minded and flexible
• Good analytical approach
