Role OverviewChampioning best practice in management of risk across all the group's international operations. Ongoing collection of information on risk and risk treatments across the group, for maintenance of the group risk register and preparation of the annual ERM report to be presented to the Board
Core Responsibilities
• Monitoring of key risks through executing a regular schedule of communications with key risk management personnel in the operating companies
• Consult and coordinate with internal audit, executive management, the Legal Department, and the operating companies, to ensure proper policies and procedures for managing enterprise risk
• Review audit and compliance reports relating to risk management
• Identify issues of non-compliance with the Group ERM Policy and notify and give advice to key management on status of resolutions
• Compile and maintain a consolidated register of risk and risk treatments relating to the entire Group
• Draft the annual ERM report to be presented to the Board
• Provide training and guidance on risk management to the operating companies
• Compare the Groups’s ERM with telecoms operators in similar markets and the ISO 31000: 2009 standard
• Performing site visits to operating companies in order to appraise the quality of their risk management framework and educate staff
Qualifications and Experience
Minimum Experience & Essential Knowledge
• Minimum 10 years experience of working for a telecommunications operator, 5 of which should be in a risk-relevant role (risk management, internal audit, fraud management, IT security etc)
• Practical experience of launching an ERM program in a greenfield site
• Working knowledge of COSO ERM framework, ISO 31000, AS/NZS 4360 or similar
• Working knowledge of Corporate Governance in publicly listed companies
• Strong generalist and practical knowledge of all the major business elements that are particular to a telecommunications operator including: network technology, IT, operations, marketing, customer service, strategy and regulation
Minimum Entry Qualifications
• University Degree in Risk, Finance, IT, or Audit
• Some professional risk management qualification is preferred, e.g. RIMS
• Some telco-relevant technical IT or networking qualification is preferred
