Telecom Vacancy for DSL TEST ENGINEER || Belgium (Antwerp)

A leader in multimedia and telecommunications, we are looking for a contract xDSL Physical Layer Test Engineer.

Responsibilities:  As xDSL Physical Layer Test Engineer you will participate to the execution of test cycles (manual or automated) for the validation of gateway devices tailor made to suit customer’s requirements – in the technical scope of ADSL 1/2/2+ & VDSL 2 technologies. Our customers are typically telecom operators located worldwide.  You will analyze, interpret & consolidate the test results and report any xDSL non compliances of the product in an early stage of the test phase.  You will study functional and performance requirements from standard groups like ITU-T and Broadband Forum and from our customers. You will define, automate whenever possible & execute the corresponding test cases and analyze the test results.  You will investigate issues reported by our customers.  You will be involved in extending the automation tool framework and make important contributions to increase testing efficiency and decrease the lead time of test cycles.  You will work closely in an expert team made of system, software and test engineers.  You will work according to Agile best practices. 

Start ASAP. Long contract duration. 

Education: Master degree in engineering (Telecommunications, Electrical/Electronics, Software). 
Experience: Experience in
DSL testing is an advantage. 

Language: English. Dutch an advantage but not mandatory.. 

Technical skills:  Basic knowledge of following technologies: Ethernet, ATM, TCP/IP, DSL.  Basic knowledge in Java, Visual Basic,  Windows, Linux, Unix OS environments 

Personality:  Team player.  Highly motivated, takes initiatives and very responsive.  Highly quality minded.  Excellent communication skills, Clear in reporting.  No problem for traveling a few times a year (less than 2 weeks).
