Role Overview - Group-level expert resource and leadership in telecom site design incorporating structures, earthing, efficient site layout
Core Responsibilities
• Group-level expert resource in mobile telecom structures and associated infrastructure, site design, deployment, vendor management
• Drive development of group-level mobile telecom site design efficiencies and structure specifications
• Support resource for review of operating company strategic plans and budgets
• Support to procurement function for technology issues
• Support the Cross-Operation Forum Program leadership for radio access technologies
Qualification and Experience
Minimum Entry Qualifications
• 12 years experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified
• Previously held position of Head of Infrastructure or similar at a major telecommunications operating company with 2G and 3G accountability
• Engineering degree or similar
• Industry training in tower structural analysis, lightning protection and earthing standards
• International experience, preferably in the MENA and SEA region
Minimum Experience & Essential Knowledge
• Vast experience with efficient mobile site design and telecommunications structures
• Good knowledge of structures requirements for mobile green fields sites, rooftop sites and transmission nodes
• Hands-on experience in developing wind loading and structure deflection criteria for mobile sites
• High level of awareness regarding changes in structures deflection criteria and their repercussions for the Group and its operating companies
• Experience in developing and implementing technology strategies
• Considerable experience with good system engineering practices and vendor engagement
• Current working experience with wind loading standards for structures
• Experience in site design, construction practices, earthing practices
