Job Vacancy for Telecom (RF) Sales Director - Africa (South Africa)

Client is a leading manufacturer and supplier of high quality wireless radio products deployed in over 120 countries. 


Key accountabilities / expectations: 
• Build the partners network in Africa 
• Develop tier 2 sales channels and assist them to generate sales 
• Develop opportunities with key end-users (carriers, OEM, government projects, utilitiesetc.) ,and cooperate with global and local channels to complete the sale and implementation cycle 
• Manage presale and post sales activities with System Engineering technical team 
• Work with the marketing team to identify new opportunities and build a comprehensive plan for the market 
• Build close relationships with and support customers, channels, systems integrators and OEMs 


Candidate profile: 
• Vast experience in sales and business development as well as channel management in the territory 
• Minimum 5 years of experience of telecoms, preferably in microwave radiocommunications or Scada radios or telemtry networks 
• Excellent communication and presentation skills in English (Portugese and French are an advantage) 
• Direct experience in vertical market sectors: government, utilities, security, transport, oil & gas, public safety, fixed line and cellular 
• Frequent travel within Territory (50% of the time) 
• Strong understanding of sales cycles and procurement processes associated with them for both niche and mass market products 
• Able to identify and quickly qualify business leads and establish and maintain relationships with key industry players 
• Able to leverage network of industry contacts and relationships to generate new business in various sectors 
• Proven relationship management skills 
Desirable: 
• Knowledge and understanding of telecoms requirements for utilities as they affect utilities’ core SCADA requirements and awareness of emerging technology issues in the sector
